5) Burned Skymaster Engine Control Cables

(Front p/n S1391-7 or -9 and Rear S1391-17)

The front and rear engine mixture and prop governor control push-pull cables are subject to being burned by their close proximity to the exhaust risers. This can cause uneven movement of the cables and possible cable failure with loss of mixture control and/or prop control in flight. We have seen these cables severely burned and ready to fail. Commodore Aerospace Corp recommends that these cables be insulated from the exhaust system by installing “fire sleeve” or equivalent material around the control cables near the riser exhaust pipes.
