15) Boom Bounce

Does your aircraft experience what some call as in flight “Boom Bounce”? This phenomenon is an oscillation or vibration at the tail section of the aircraft. It is a complex issue and can result in extensive structural problems if allowed to continue and usually can be associated with the following:

  1. Elevator trim tab parts wear and/or failure.

  2. Elevator Trim tab actuator wear and/or failure.

  3. Elevator mount/bearing/bushing wear and/or failure.

  4. Rear engine Lord mount wear and or failure.

  5. Rear engine mount tubing failure or failure at the engine mount/firewall bolts.

By holding the trim tab at the trailing edge, and moving it up and down, is there excessive movement? By pushing the elevator up and down at or near the outboard and/or inboard mounts, can you feel any movement? By pushing up and down and on the rear prop, can you feel any movement or slop other than moving the whole aircraft?

We at Commodore Aerospace Corp with our extensive inventory of new parts have put together replacement parts kits to address these problems. Kit A. contains new parts to fix the wear in your old elevator trim tab parts.
